Awesome Easter Egg Hunts in the Garden

In the lead up to Easter, nothing gets kids more excited than an Easter egg hunt! There are a few things you can do to update the tradition and make the whole experience loads more enjoyable.

Before the hunt begins, prepare a mix of paper, glue, and straw and have guests create their own personalized baskets to use for the hunt. Encourage all guests to be creative as their basket is theirs to take home.

First of all you want to make sure you have ample treasures for all of your guests. We recommend a dozen for each person to ensure everyone has a chance to find a generous amount of eggs. Also, a mixture of plastic eggs filled with gifts (small toys, chocolate, temporary tattoos, coins, stickers etc.) and chocolate eggs keeps an element of surprise in the game.

In addition to the mixed surprise eggs, a great idea is a major prize for an overall winner. A large golden egg with a toy or cash prize inside is a great prize for the finder.

The hunt is only over once all the eggs have been found – but that doesn’t mean the fun has to end. There are a couple more Easter inspired games we suggest just in case the festivities are over too soon:

Bunny Hop:

This game is like duck, duck, goose with a hop. Change the words to bunny as you tap each child and hop when one child is selected. Instead of running around the circle, players hop with their feet together.

Egg Bowling:

Use coloured hard-boiled eggs and one white hard-boiled egg. Roll the white one into the center of a room and take turns to see who can roll their coloured egg closest to the white egg.
